An interrupted cold chain can spoil an entire delivery. An hour of downtime means lost revenue.&#xA0;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.invesdor.com\/rounds\/0b4f96bf-94c6-4004-9781-f2d87942e796?_gl=1*lddv20*_gcl_au*MjAyNzg2NTAxNC4xNzY4MjE5MjcyLjE5MzMwMTM4NzcuMTc2ODg5NjE5OS4xNzY4ODk2MTk4#\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Sawa Energy<\/a><\/strong> faced the challenge of expanding renewable energy where it is urgently needed. Between 2022 and 2023, Sawa Energy raised &#x20AC;1,399,734 via Invesdor. This funding played a catalytic role by unlocking additional financing and accelerating the rollout of renewable energy infrastructure in Uganda and Rwanda.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.invesdor.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/sawa-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18612\" style=\"width:810px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.invesdor.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/sawa-1.png 600w, https:\/\/www.invesdor.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/sawa-1-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The funding enabled:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the commissioning of 54 solar sites&#xA0;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3.6 MWp of installed solar capacity&#xA0;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 MWh of battery storage&#xA0;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>an estimated CO&#x2082; reduction of around 2,400 tons&#xA0;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For small and medium sized businesses, this translates into fewer power outages, lower energy&#xA0;costs&#xA0;and greater operational reliability. In regions where grid instability is common, reliable electricity is not a luxury but a foundation for economic growth.&#xA0;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beyond infrastructure deployment, Sawa Energy expanded its operations and grew its core team from&#xA0;3&#xA0;to&#xA0;17&#xA0;permanent employees. This strengthened local&#xA0;expertise&#xA0;and created a solid foundation for long term impact and further scale.&#xA0;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This&#xA0;is&#xA0;investor&#xA0;capital&#xA0;turning&#xA0;into&#xA0;climate&#xA0;action&#xA0;and&#xA0;economic&#xA0;resilience&#xA0;on&#xA0;the&#xA0;ground.&#xA0;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Medical_innovation_that_changes_everyday_life\"><\/span>Medical&#xA0;innovation&#xA0;that&#xA0;changes&#xA0;everyday&#xA0;life&#xA0;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Netherlands, patients are now testing a wearable artificial kidney at home for the first time. The NeoKidney is developed by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.invesdor.nl\/projecten\/8e0cb432-b05a-4274-8e26-e9be75ef2ae9#\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Nextkidney<\/a><\/strong>, in collaboration with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.umcutrecht.nl\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">UMC Utrecht<\/a><\/strong> and the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/nierstichting.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Nierstichting<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For people with kidney failure, dialysis often means long hospital sessions several times per week, placing a heavy burden on daily life. The NeoKidney aims to make dialysis portable, allowing treatment at home or while travelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ongoing clinical study focuses on safety, effectiveness, ease of use and the impact on daily routines and quality of life. As lead researcher Karin Gerritsen explains, dialysis is life saving but also demanding.
