Restaurant Juuri

Authentic flavours, wanton passion, wild herbs, crazy ideas, love for artisan produce and the skill to make incredibly tasty food. At Juuri we believe that traditions should be saved by updating them to become a part of Helsinki’s current food culture. Thanks to the best local ingredients we have flavours that don’t pale in comparison with the culinary treasures of other cultures. We want to pamper our diners’ taste buds with a cross section of local tastes.

Restaurant Latva

Restaurant Latva offers great and richs flavours with the twist of our chef Benjamin's own style. Latva is a combination of big flavours, warm hospitality and carefully picked seasons ingredients.

Restaurant Maritori

Restaurant Maritori is situated in the same bulding as the Finnish design brand Marimekko’s head office and factory outlet store in Herttoniemi, Eastern Helsinki. Maritori serves delicious lunch from Finnish ingredients to the Marimekko staff as well as all design lovers throughout the world.

Pihka lunch restaurants

Pihka elevates the casual office worker lunch into something delicious. Pihka’s core idea is Restaurant Juuri’s internationally acclaimed insight: food made from Finnish ingredients can taste sublime. Pihka offers daily a choice of a warm meat, fish or vegeterian dish and also soup and an uncommonly comprehensive Green Table which enables light and tasty dining.

Ohrana brewery

Our very own brewery is situated right next door to Juuri. Ohrana consists of a street level pub/bar and a brewery which is in the cellar right below the bar. All the beers are available int upstairs pub and the brewery delivers beer also to Juuri, Latva and Café & Bar in Designm Museum. We organize brewery rounds with beer tasting included with bar snacks.

Juuri Café & Bar

Finnish design goes together with Finnish cuisine. Our Juuri Café & Bars are located in Design Museum and in Kasarmitori, in the heart of Helsinki. The café serves fresh bread, salads, pasties, pies and sweet artisan pastries. To go with them we have locally roasted coffee and perhaps a glass of wine from carefully chosen small producers.

Juuri Tapahtumat

Juuri Tapahtumat is the event and catering team for Juuri restaurants. The team is at their best in planning, executing and catering business and company events of all sizes. They can also easily handle everything from small private parties to bigger gala dinners (i.e. Jussi-gaala - Finnish film industry gala) or full restaurant and VIP services for festivals such as Huvila-teltta concert venue during Helsinki Festivals.

Kasarmin Salit

Kasarmin Salit is a new meeting and event venue in the middle of Helsinki with the total of 1600 square meters of restaurants and conference & event space. The newbuilding opened it's doors in January 2018.

Our story

Restaurant Juuri was founded, because it had to be. In the early 2000s Finnish cuisine was not numbered among the favourites, although many Finnish ingredients are of uncontested quality. Juuri was born to lead the charge in favour of native tastes and proved to be a success soon after its opening. After this Juuri Yhtiöt has expanded their activities in restaurant business.

Finnish food culture is an assemblage of regional cuisines, long traditions and fresh ideas. These are the elements utilized by our cluster of enterprises in providing customers with wonderful taste experiences. The cornerstones of our philosophy are locality, purity and authenticity. We firmly believe that delicious quality food does not need to be extravagantly expensive, and demonstrate this in practice every day. This has led to a situation where both customers and restaurant owners win. It is this most of all that encourages us to push higher and farther than ever.
