FlightBite - Coming soon
This is a preview of an upcoming funding round
FlightBite is an all in one booking and finance solution for travellers. Search, compare and book flights to anywhere in the world and pay for the cost by monthly instalments, even after you’ve travelled with no deposit or upfront fees.
This funding round is not yet active, but it will open soon. The final pitch will contain more information than the preview. All information is subject to change, so do not base your investment decision on the preview version. Hit the like button on the right to be notified when the pitch goes live.
Like you, we love to travel, especially to exotic and far-flung destinations. But we often found the cost of flights a bit hard to swallow!
It isn’t always practical to pay up front for the flights you want, but this can mean missing out on the best deals or being left unable to take a spontaneous trip.
People are now travelling further and spending more than ever, with 65.7m flights booked in the UK in 2015, a 10% increase on the year before, and a trend which is only expected to continue.
It is estimated that 46% of the £23bn spent on flights in the UK are paid for with credit cards, charging an average of 21.6% interest plus processing fees. Not to mention the £billions that go unspent each year by potential spontaneous travellers with no appropriate means of instant finance.
We wanted to create a service that would allow travellers the freedom to purchase the flights they want with no upfront fees and without having to rely on expensive credit cards or other forms of high interest loans.
So we created FlightBite, an all-in-one booking and finance solution for those that love to see the world, but don’t want to pay the Earth.
We intend to make it easier and more cost effective for customers to book the flights they want, on their preferred routes and carriers. By utilising a p2p lending model, through our partner Lendable and offering variable interest rates of between 4.7% and 40.0% customers will avoid having to pay substantial upfront fees, additional booking charges or having to rely on alternative forms of finance.
You can book flights with no deposit and pay for the tickets you want in affordable monthly instalments, at an interest rate that’s right for you. We also won’t charge extra if you want to pay us back early!
Our current situation
Following over a year of research and development, FlightBite officially launched on 11th October 2016 and has since gained 6,000 organic page views.
As a team, we collectively have over 70 years of Finance, Sales, Marketing, Design, IT and Legal experience across various sectors and have successfully self- financed all start up costs to date.
As well as interest from a number of travel, finance and tech blogs, news providers and trade journals, we have also been nominated for an industry award by a leading travel media platform.
Our funding round
We are looking to raise between £100k and £250k.
These funds will be used to:
- Develop and refine the FlightBite platform, by adding additional features and service offerings.
- Develop our market position through a combination of targeted marketing campaigns via various online channels.
- Develop partnership agreements and integration opportunities.
- Employment of mission-critical staff on a permanent basis, who have to date worked part time on FlightBite.
We aim to achieve this on a 6-12 month timescale.
We would welcome all potential investors, particularly those with relevant finance, travel or tech experience and we are also open to opportunity of bringing on board additional advisors or board members whose skill-sets add value to the FlightBite proposition.
We hope you are as excited by our plans as we are, it’s going to be an amazing journey!
